The disadvantages of diamond electroplated grinding wheels
There is no firmly chemical metallurgical bonding among coating
metal, core materials and abrasives. The abrasives is only
mechanically entrapped in coating metal, therefore the gripping
force is few. When it is operating at high speed and heavy load,
the diamond particles are easy to fall off and it will bring the
failure to the whole grinding wheels; to strengthen the gripping
force, we shall increase the grinding thickness, but the chip space
is reduced, which would make the grinding wheels blocked, and it
will also lead to poor cooling effect and burn the workpiece.
